Our Method
As part of Sydney Linear Algebra Tutoring we first review your University curriculum. Then we proceed to understand the knowledge level and areas of difficulty of the undergraduate or postgraduate. Based on that we personalize Mathematics tutoring sessions.
Most fail Mathematics exams because they memorize without knowing what they are doing, so we make it a priority to make you understand Mathematics necessary to pass Exams. Objective is to make you understand Mathematics and at the same time more importantly pass Exams.
- We make you understand Mathematics needed to pass exams.
- We provide personalized lessons based on knowledge level and areas of difficulty.
- We provide Maths lessons based on range of degrees including but not limited to Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications etc.), Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Survey etc.
- Qualified tutors who have completed equivalent academic degrees or PHD.
- Most have favorite ways of doing things, so our tutors don’t force you to change your existing techniques but will help you improve it.
QUALIFICATIONS OF TUTORS
Linear Algebra Tutors Sydney have at our disposal multi skilled tutors with varying academic and professional back grounds as mentioned below. However, while we look for knowledgeable tutors, we look for tutors, who are very good at teaching. We at Linear Algebra Tutors Sydney understand knowledge alone will not make a good teacher. Therefore, we look for individuals with great teaching skills. Teachers, who can build a great teaching relationship with students as well as tutor.

WHAT DOES MATHS MEAN?
Most fail mathematics exams because they memorize Maths without understanding it. After many tutoring assignments, Alpha University Maths Tutors Sydney have identified this as the main root cause for exam failures.
Alpha University Maths Tutors Sydney have created this blog to let you understand what Maths means with these few examples. Due to lack of space, we have used over simplified language to explain complicated subject matter.
Followings are over simplification of complex concepts to show that underlying basics can be easily understood if taught the right way.
ALGEBRA: Meaning of Algebra
Algebra is similar to Arithmetic. In algebra instead of numbers symbols or letters are used.
Example 1: Solve following.
Now write X instead of 5 and Y instead of 3, then we get following.
Although this is a simple idea, this is the basic concept of algebra. This gets developed into functions, graphs, differentiation and integrations.
Example 2: Meaning of Algebra
Question: simplify following:
Answer:
When faced with difficult problem in algebra, think in terms of numbers.
Plug in few numbers ( 3 for X, 5 for Y, 7 for b, 11 for c) to understand what this means then it will be easy to simply. Following is the same representation of above in arithmetics form which is easy to solve.
DIFFERENTIATION
Example: Meaning of Differentiation
Let’s consider constant speed of 60km/h. This means distance of 60km is travelled within time of 1 hour.
Speed is the first derivative of distance. Since constant speed, d(Distance) = Distance and d(Time)= Time.
INTEGRATION
Example: Meaning of Integration
Although as complicated as it sounds, Integration is simply used to calculate area. Following is a basic example to show this.
Area of 4m*2m rectangle is 8m2
Another way to find out the area is by using integration. 4×2 rectangle can be represented in a graph as follows. Both provides the same result.
